Going Public.
Whenever you're ready.
Baptism is how someone says out loud, in front of people who will remember it: I belong to Jesus now. It doesn't make you clean — He does that. It just tells the truth about what He's already done.
I'm Interested“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
ROMANS 6:4 (NIV)And what it isn't.
What Baptism Is
- A public declaration that you've put your trust in Jesus
- A picture of dying to an old life and being raised into a new one
- Something Jesus Himself did, and told His followers to do
- A moment your community gets to witness and stand behind
What Baptism Isn't
- Not what saves you — that's Jesus, and it's already done
- Not a graduation, or proof you've got it all together
- Not a promise you'll never struggle again
- Not something anyone should pressure you into
Anyone who's ready to say yes.
You don't need a certain number of days sober, a clean record, or a tidy testimony. You need to have decided to follow Jesus, and to want to say so publicly. That's it.
New to Faith
If you've recently decided to follow Jesus — even very recently — this is the next honest step.
Coming Back
If you walked away and you're walking back, and you were never baptized, you're welcome here.
Never Made It Public
If you've believed quietly for years but never said it out loud in front of anyone, this is that.
What actually happens.
No spectacle, no stage lights. Here's the whole thing, start to finish, so nothing catches you off guard.
What to Bring
- Dark, modest clothes you don't mind getting wet (a t-shirt and shorts work)
- A full change of dry clothes
- A towel — we'll have extras if you forget
- Anyone you'd want standing there with you
Good to Know
- We'll baptize in a farm tub on site, or in the shallow creek behind the farm if the weather cooperates. We'll confirm which a few days ahead.
- Depending on the season, the water may be cold. It's brief, and it's worth it.
- There's a private space to change, before and after.
- Tell us about any health or mobility concerns — we'll adapt.
- No photos of you without your say-so. Ever.
The things people actually wonder.
Do I have to be "good enough" first?
No. That's the whole point — nobody is, and baptism isn't a reward for getting it together. If you're waiting until you've earned it, you'll wait forever. Come as you are.
When is the next baptism?
We haven't set a date. Rather than put one on the calendar and hope people feel ready by then, we'd rather hear from you first and schedule around the people who actually want it. Add your name below and we'll be in touch.
I was baptized as a baby. Do I need to do this again?
Christians disagree about this in good faith, and we're not going to tell you your family's tradition didn't count. What we'd say is this: if you were baptized before you could choose it, and you now want to declare that faith as your own decision, we'd be glad to baptize you. If you'd rather not, that's genuinely fine too. Let's talk it through.
What if I relapse after?
Then you'll be a baptized person who relapsed, and Jesus won't love you less. Baptism isn't a promise that you'll never struggle — it's a declaration of who you belong to while you do. We'll still be here.
Do I have to speak in front of everyone?
No. Some people want to say something about what God has done. Others just want to get in the water. Both are completely fine, and nobody will put a microphone in your face.
Can I be baptized if I'm under 18?
Yes, if you're 13 or older. We ask that anyone under 18 have written permission from a parent or guardian, and that a parent or guardian be present that morning. We want this to be your own decision, made with the people responsible for you standing right there.
What if I'm not ready yet?
Then you're not ready, and that's an honest answer we respect. There's no deadline here and no next date you're going to miss. Come to a Sunday, ask your questions, take all the time you need.
Add your name to the list.
We don't have our next baptism date set yet — we'll schedule one once there are people ready. Let us know you're interested and we'll reach out personally, well before anything is planned. This isn't a commitment, and you can change your mind at any point.
Still just thinking about it?
That's fine. Come to a Sunday, ask whatever you want, take your time. Nothing here is on a clock.
